Dj Twirl
DJ Twirl has one simple mission: to play groovy tunes with authenticity and nerve, to amaze, surprise and inspire you, to put a spring in your step, a swagger in your hips and a smile on your face.
Focus is on eclectic tune selection – moving beyond the restrictions of genres, she plays rare treats fom nu-jazz, old jazz, afrobeat, soul, brazilica, bossanova, lazy funk, ska, electric swing, infectuous blues, balkan and once in a while even hip-hop and breakbeat.
DJ Twirl first first fell in love with DJ’ing when she stepped in for a sick boyfriend (bless him!) at a random party in the woods outside of Oxford, UK. Soon after she moved to Manila, Philippines, where she played regularly at bars and clubs such as M Cafe, Embassy Cuisine and the Penguin. She now lives in Oslo, and plays regularly at Cafe Sør.
